# Daily Verse

> Start each day with a verse from Scripture displayed on your home screen, along with a devotional thought to carry with you.

# Daily Verse

Every time you open GodFocus, a verse from God's Word greets you right on your home screen. It is a small but meaningful way to let Scripture set the tone for your day.

## What Is the Daily Verse?

The daily verse is a card at the top of your home screen that shows a fresh Bible verse each day. It includes the Scripture text, the reference (book, chapter, and verse), and often a short devotional thought to help you reflect on what the verse means for your life today.

## How to Get There

Tap the **Home** tab at the bottom of your screen (the house icon). The daily verse card is right at the top, ready and waiting for you.

## What the Daily Verse Includes

<Steps>
  <Step title="Scripture reference">
    The book, chapter, and verse are displayed at the top of the card (for example, "Psalm 46:10" or "John 3:16").
  </Step>

  <Step title="The verse text">
    The full text of the verse is shown. If the passage is long, you will see the first few lines with a **Read More** button to expand and see the rest.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Devotional thought">
    Below the verse, you may see a short devotional thought in italics — a sentence or two to help you think about what God is saying through this verse. Not every verse has one, but many do.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Reflect button">
    At the bottom of the card, there is a **Reflect** button with a flame icon. Tap it to open a guided session with this verse already loaded, so you can spend dedicated time meditating on it.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Reading the Full Verse

If the verse text is longer than a few lines, it will be shortened to save space on your home screen. To read the whole thing:

1. Look for the **Read More** button below the verse text
2. Tap it to expand and see the full passage
3. Tap **Show Less** to collapse it again

## Reflecting on the Daily Verse

Want to spend a few minutes sitting with today's verse? Here is how:

  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  Even if you do not have time for a full session, simply reading the daily verse takes only a few seconds. Let it sit in your heart as you go about your day. You might be surprised how God brings it back to mind exactly when you need it.
</Tip>

## A Few Things to Know

* **It changes every day** — A new verse appears each day, curated by the GodFocus team
* **Everyone sees the same verse** — All GodFocus users see the same daily verse on any given day, which means you and your community are reflecting on the same Scripture together
* **Devotional thoughts are optional** — Some days include a devotional thought, and some days let the verse speak for itself

<Tip>
  Try making the daily verse the first thing you read each morning. Before checking your messages or the news, open GodFocus and let God's Word be the first voice you hear today.
</Tip>

> *"In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly."* — Psalm 5:3
