Prayer List

Your prayer list is a personal space to write down everything you are bringing before God. It helps you stay faithful in prayer and gives you a beautiful record of how God has moved in your life over time.

What Is the Prayer List?

The prayer list is exactly what it sounds like — a place to write down your prayers so you do not forget them. You can add new prayers, mark them as answered (and celebrate!), archive old ones, and filter between active and answered prayers.

How to Get There

Tap the Prayers tab at the bottom of your screen (the heart icon). Your prayer list opens right up.

Adding a New Prayer

1

Open the Prayers tab

Tap the Prayers tab (heart icon) at the bottom of your screen.
2

Tap the 'Add Prayer' button

In the top-right corner, you will see an Add Prayer button with a plus icon. Tap it.
3

Enter a title

Give your prayer a short title — something like “Healing for Mom,” “Wisdom for my job decision,” or “Peace about the move.” This field is required.
4

Add details (optional)

Below the title, there is a description field where you can add more context. This is optional, but it can be helpful to write out the details of what you are praying for.
5

Tap 'Add Prayer'

Tap the Add Prayer button to save it. Your new prayer will appear in your active list right away.
Do not overthink the title. Even something simple like “My friend Sarah” or “Feeling anxious” is enough. God knows your heart — this is just to help you remember.

Marking a Prayer as Answered

This is the best part. When God answers a prayer, you get to celebrate it!
1

Find the prayer in your Active list

Open the Prayers tab and look through your active prayers.
2

Tap the 'Answered' button

Next to each active prayer, you will see an Answered button with a checkmark. Tap it.
3

The prayer moves to your Answered tab

Your prayer is now marked as answered, with the date it was answered. You can find it under the Answered tab anytime.
Come back to your Answered tab from time to time. Scrolling through answered prayers is one of the most faith-building things you can do. It is proof — right there in your own life — that God hears you and He is at work.

Archiving a Prayer

Sometimes a prayer is no longer active, but it was not exactly “answered” either — maybe the situation changed, or you have moved on. That is what archiving is for.
1

Find the prayer you want to archive

Look through your prayer list for the prayer you want to tuck away.
2

Tap the archive icon

Next to each prayer, you will see a small archive icon (looks like a box). Tap it.
3

The prayer is archived

It disappears from your Active and Answered views but is not deleted. You can still find it by switching to the All tab.

Reopening a Prayer

Changed your mind? You can bring an answered prayer back to active status.
1

Go to the Answered tab

Tap the Answered tab at the top of your prayer list.
2

Find the prayer you want to reopen

Look through your answered prayers.
3

Tap the 'Reopen' button

Each answered prayer has a Reopen button with a refresh icon. Tap it, and the prayer moves back to your Active list.

Deleting a Prayer

If you want to permanently remove a prayer:
1

Find the prayer

Look through your prayer list (in any tab).
2

Tap the trash icon

Next to each prayer, you will see a small red trash icon. Tap it.
3

Confirm the deletion

A confirmation dialog will appear asking “Are you sure?” This is a safety step because deleted prayers cannot be recovered. Tap Delete to confirm.

Filtering Your Prayers

At the top of the prayer list, you will see three tabs:
TabWhat It Shows
ActivePrayers you are currently bringing before God. These are the ones you are actively praying about.
AnsweredPrayers God has answered. Each one shows the date you added it and the date it was answered.
AllEverything in one view — active, answered, and archived prayers together.
Below the tabs, you will also see a quick count: how many active prayers and how many answered prayers you have.

Privacy

Your prayer list is completely private to your account. No one else can see your prayers — not other users, not the GodFocus team. This is between you and God.
Try adding your prayers right after your guided session while they are fresh on your heart. The Speak step often surfaces things you want to keep praying about.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” — Philippians 4:6
